Along with Web 2.0 we will need to address Teaching 2.0 or Classroom 2.0
- Shift from thinking about teaching in an info-scarce environment to thinking about teaching in an info-abundant environment
- Shift from teaching students to assume authority to proving authority (teach more from sources that demand proof instead of sources that demand obedience [textbooks])
- Shift from just teaching, to teaching and creating valuable learning experiences
- Shift from controlling the learn toward respecting the learning experience.
- Shift from using the computer as a teaching tool, to using it as a thinking tool.
- A shift from exclusive practicing teaching in front of the class to practicing learning in front of the class -- becoming a model/master learner.''

Me, too!
Carrie Williamson (NC) • 2007-11-26 08:50:41

Carrie Williamson (NC) • 2007-11-26 08:58:41

Natalie (US) • 2007-11-26 09:06:42

Jane Bowser (NC) • 2007-11-26 09:07:44
Yes
Natalie (US) • 2007-11-26 09:08:59
wow that's really cool
Ellen Verhaagen (US) • 2007-11-26 09:28:20
how do you teach kids that adding their favorite mp3 song to a podcast is not legal?
Amy (US) • 2007-11-26 10:00:00
There is a great dvd created by DPI called Copyright or Wrong? that does an excellent job of explaining copyright to kids. A Raleigh H.S. kid explains why "stealing music" for his movies is illegal. Every NC school should have this dvd.
Ellen Verhaagen (US) • 2007-11-26 10:01:29

Natalie (US) • 2007-11-26 14:33:33
would you allow students to just go on creative commons freely to search for images for websites, etc?
marywarren (NC) • 2007-11-26 15:05:09
