Hello World! I just started my blog this week, partly inspired by reading about the K12Online conference. I've been teaching computers for years to kids and adults, but it's time for me to move up to the next level. It's fine to be a whiz at Microsoft Office and a wizard at PhotoShop, but there's a whole new world out there -- of blogs, wikis, podcasts and social networks. I need to teach the teachers in my school district how to take that next step up. It will be tough. They don't speak the language of Technorati and mashups. They aren't very comfortable with MySpace and YouTube. Frankly neither am I. I come from a different generation, when we didn't put our personal lives out there quite so publicly. But it's time we learned what our kids are already up to. Let's join them in the new world of multi-channel communication. Thanks, David, for helping me to take this first step.
