Return to Social Networking For Educators

My interpretation of this is that fewer parents have a firm and comfortable understand of what the Internet is about today, especially in terms of how their children use it.

Students use their social networks to work with friends, not so much to flirt with people they don't know.

What's interesting here is the lack of differentiation between various demographics.

Finally, this data seemed to indicate to me that much of our children's communications are social, group-based. The least often utilized tool was poke or kudos, which are more personal one to one communications. A majority of the communications are public to the particular group which the student belongs to. It's social and collaborative.
