Wow what a road trip.
Found the conference a couple of days ago and have since then spent several hours looking through various blogs and wiki's.
I teach y4 children in the UK, which is to say they are aged 8-9, and have thought for the last couple of years that the ICT teaching going on in my school needs to be more challenging. So over the summer I challenged my next class to blog on a site I set up about The Romans, thus leading a learning environment. It was a great experience.
This led me to recommending that our yr 6 pupils(10-11yr olds) needed to get into blogging. This I have managed to set in place this term and the results were great, but I know I'll need to be able to prove the educational merits to the head of the school and the govenors soon!
The Keynote talk has strengthened my understanding that this is the correct way forward for children, so many thanks.
I'll next have to get a blog sorted with some original thought and ideas!
