Losing touch with the students who we teach is a common theme that resonates throughout the many discussions that we have as digital immigrants when working with digital natives.
What is the exemplary model, if the students are all still facing the same way? Is Web 2.0 a possible answer? How can we integrate it in a meaningful way? Looking for some interesting best practices throughout the conference.
I'm certain that best practices will be coming out of this conference. One source in a speculative direction might be a recent article at the TechLearning web site, A Day in the Life of Web 2.0.
I think that you bring up another interesting issue about keeping up with students. If they are all facing in the same direction, then when you are through with them, they are facing away. One of the comments that I hear a lot from teachers who are blogging, or using class wikis, is that last years students remain engaged, commenting, and in some cases, contributing. There are so many stories at the end of the year of students who want to continue their blogs.

How many keynotes get interupted by a little old lady, while delivering it in the local greenway? ... David that was hilarious!
It was pretty hilarious for me ;-)
