- VisualBlooms - home
For the record...this is an implementation point, a discussion starter. Those of us that provide staff development around instructional technology have identified a need to share more than just tools with teachers. To evaluate them based on Bloom's Taxonomy is simply a way to connect the tools to those that would be identified with the Affective, Psychomotor, or Cognitive domains--specifically the Cognitive. The visual that you see here is the seed of discussion. There are other models in the section to the left called "Ideas for the Visual." I would hope that the critical analysis of what we've started here includes attention to the fact that we are building something from the ground up, starting conversations and collaborating around doing what's best for kids and teachers. This is a work in progress and will continue to evolve. *Note--in order to make changes to this collaborative wiki, please request to become a member.

That is, while we remain fairly rigid in how instruction is delivered and the idea of teacher-driven models, the use of Web 2.0 tools will always be marginalized.
- Teachers Lead Adoption of Web 2.0, but Perceptions Stifle Social Networking : April 2009 : THE Journal
Web 2.0 tools are now in use at most schools, and teachers have been largely responsible for making this happen, according to a national K-12 technology survey released this week. But of all the various applications of Web 2.0 technologies, social networking remains the outcast, with the vast majority of districts reporting that few or no teachers engage in this type of communication.
