I have spent the afternoon in an Intel Teach to the Future workshop that my district is running as we try and move into the 21st century. If my district is indicative of any other district out there we must all realize that there is an extreme generational disconnect between our students and our staff.
Here I am learning about Web 2.0 applications, yet some of our 30-year veteran teachers are just discovering e-mail and general purpose applications! I hope to continue the change process in our small district, and whatever I learn at this conference I am sure to use in that change process. In Gladwell's terms, I am trying to be a connector, maven, and salesman all at the same time.
