So many things to think about!

  • David hit on a skill/concept I try to impress upon my young, sweet college students, know how to make yourself an expert . . . again and again and again . . . or know how to flip burgers.
  • I need to work on getting them to feel entitled to take the side trips that David spoke of so eloquently. They feel entitled to so many other things (some sarcasm there), but not to teaching themselves anything to do with "school." They can teach themselves a computer game, etc. Why not knowledge? Besides the obvious stuff. How to "beat" that out of them and fast.
  • And not just the college students, but the k-12 educators I work with on technology integration. I know why they don't take the side trips - even though they want to. But if they felt more entitled, they might just do it anyway!
  • I'm trying to make a point of introducing my students to virtual writing, but I feel like I have to do it "on the down low" because it's not part of the accepted curriculum - which I admit college professors have some (lots of) freedom to ignore - but there's not much support for this sort of writing, even from other faculty.
  • Loved loved loved the comments about technology and culture.
  • Loved loved loved the woman in the greenway, as well as the other locations.
