(Return to K12online 2006)
I started listening to the keynote at 5:30 this morning and then life interuppted me and I just now was able to finish (it is 2 pm). I am grateful to David for taking the time to go through the confrence tools including hitchhikr and this wiki. This will help all of us who are realtively new to all of this have a more productive confrence experience. This part of the presentation willalso serve useful for a long time as an introduction and review for our faculty as we grapple with these new tools.
I salute David and all of the presenters who are struggeling with speaking to a camera instead of an audience. It worked and in the end it felt like we were sitting in your office having a fireside chat!
The concept of "taking side trips for learning" is powerful and challenging. It is not always easy to trust the map when you start out on a side road that is supposed to get you there. Thanks for pointing the way and bolstering our courage by showing us the possibilities and the change that has already occured. I look forward to the remainder of the confrence.
Okay i know these are thoughts and reactions not truely notes. Next time i'll get the notes.
Actually, Barbara, reactions is exactly what I wanted. It's your insights that we all learn from. Your idea about using a map during sidetrips has got me thinking. It's one of the things that is different about Web 2.0. In Web 1, we all followed the road maps created by the webmasters. We followed their links. In Web 2.0, through our aggregators, we now make our own maps.
