In this episode I fall back on something that I started a few weeks ago, reading some of my recent blogs that I think are particularly important. Today’s podcast includes a reading of my first 2ยข Worth entry on Flat Classrooms, carrying over from the flat world meme.
I also include a brief interview with Nancy Suhu, the content manager for iSeekSolutions, but also a former producer and photo journalist for CBS. I asked Nancy some questions about being a photojournalist and what it’s like to capture an event or a place to communicate with a broader audience.
Finally, I did a podcasting presentation at the Distance Learning Alliance conference in Asheville, North Carolina, and I did a round with the audience, asking them what’s knocked their socks off at the conference. More fun here than substance, but fun is good!
Technology conferences are learning. We no longer need to limit the benefits of the conference experience to the time and place of its occurrence. Information flows in so many different directions today, that we can extend the conference to places and times outside the main event.
TechFORUM asked me to podcast my presentation on Web 2.0. It has take me some time, given our continuing struggles with Son of Citation Machine and frequent travel. Plus, this was a ninety minute presentation, so it took a long time to go through and do some minor editing. I ended out having to split the podcast out into four files, so this, and the next three podcasts, will be full of Web 2.0 stuff for education leaders in the Chicago area.
Most of this podcast is consists of a roundtable discussion at the Technology & Learning Magazine, TechForum in Chicago last week. The discussion involved a variety of educators who were exploring open source as a possible solution to a number of education technology problems.
